Top O’ The Morning to You!
What would March be without St Patrick’s Day? Well, it’d be a month of “Pi-Days” (March 14) and “Beginnings of Spring” (March 20), of “Dr Seuss” (March 2) and “Awkward Moments” (March 18th), of “Common Courtesies” (March 21), “Oatmeal Nut Waffles” (March 11th) and “Walks-In-The-Park” (March 30). But whether you’re truly Irish or not, on March 17th we all get to share a bit in the joy of the Emerald Isle.
Aside from baking a loaf or two of Irish Soda Bread, we’re planning to whip up this healthy Shamrock Shake to strengthen us for some amazing St. Patrick’s Day experiments.
Too bad that “International Napping Day” happens on March 13th – before the green-themed festivities. We’ll have to lean into “Make Up Your Own Holiday” day on March 26th to declare a focus on R&R.
What We’re Watching
Have you heard of “All Creatures Great and Small,” the charming tales of a veterinarian in 1930s England countryside? Based on the popular book series by James Alfred Wight (pen name James Herriot), the show features just the right mix of Yorkshire Dales, eccentric characters, and tweed outerwear to give us that deep exhale at the end of the day.
Money Well Spent
Remember Calvin and Hobbes? We just rediscovered the mischievous dream team (whether or not inspired by the antics of one of our own family members) and now, father and son can be heard giggling during evening story time. This Complete Box Set includes all comic strips from eleven years of publications (when newspapers were a thing), and is sure to be a treasure for years to come.
